Artist Statement

I have always loved looking at art. As a girl, I would visit my grandmother in Mpls., MN. where I walked the few blocks to the Minneapolis Art Institute. I remember the first time I stood in front of the Institute intimidated by its large pillars and tall, wide steps.

What a wonderful world I found when finally I worked up the courage to climb those steps and go inside! Beautiful paintings hung in huge rooms with high walls. I felt like a tiny mouse in a very large story book.

Now all these years later I am pursuing my own creativity in my watercolor paintings, some of which have won awards.

As life is, so are my paintings an ever evolving growth experience. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at the world around me and think, How do I paint the purple/orange clouds reflecting the setting sun? Or, paint that curl on the inside of a rose petal? I hope as you browse my website, you receive pleasure in "looking at my art."
